The size of hook determines size of Heart. Working with size 10 crochet cotton makes a Heart small enough to put on an earring. I like working with a size 11 crochet hook for a perfect small Heart. Using two strands of yarn together and a size 0 crochet hook makes Heart about twice the size as a single strand with a size 11 hook. You can make a Heart with any yarn, including worsted weight yarn.
The entire Heart is worked in a single row in the first chain of the initial CH 4.
Legend:
CH = chain
TC = triple crochet
DC = double crochet
Pattern:
CH 4. In first CH, TC 4, DC 4, CH 1, TC 1, CH 1, DC 4, TC 4, CH 2, SL ST. Finish off.
I stiffen these with Stiffy (found near the Mod Podge in craft stores). Just use a sponge brush and apply to both sides and allow to dry.
